Javelin-4 was a blast to make. Production on this map started early in Destiny 2 development and went through a large number of iterations before finally settling in its shipping state.
Initially, the circular rocket room was a 40 meter drop from the main gameplay level into a pit below, to see how far we could push verticality in Destiny 2 PvP maps. Players could reach the surface again via elevators and mancannons. While it was a fun gimmick, the gameplay ultimately suffered greatly and over time the room moved up and up and up until it was on the same level as the rest of the layout.
