I've been working on a number of materials at the office lately, so I decided to start a few in tandem at home.

One thing I've noticed about working with Substance Designer, and a lot of what's popular on ArtStation, is that many materials will look fantastic in the viewport, on a material sphere, but once tiled in-context, it's easy to see how badly the illusion breaks down within a greater environment.

The next several materials I'll be working on at home will be aiming more toward ensuring higher quality when tiling, thresholding with other materials, and existing within a scene as an element, rather than as a hero/portfolio material in and of itself.
